Kat Jazz - Samyog Regmi and co.

Samyog Regmi was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. Growing up with influences from all around the world he was exploring many genres growing up, including his local traditional music, jazz and Eastern classical music. After pursuing further musical studies in the Netherlands, Samyog has been composing for various ensembles including his quintet, Septet and as well as for the CVA Big band. He has also done numerous concerts playing original music with his own ensembles. Samyog has recently released his own album entitled: Unpopular Opinion. You won’t want to miss his unforgettable compositions!

In this concert, Samyog Regmi and Co. will showcase the compositions in a more intimate setting than their usual presentation. This creates a transparent quality in the music, while also solidifying each band member's role like pillars. Samyog, the composer, refers to these compositions as songs, which then adopt a fresh approach to storytelling—vividly imaginative yet transparent.
