Newaz

Newaz is a Hard Rock Band influenced by Blues, Punk and Grunge. The band VAMPIRES, which had Satish Sthapit as the singer and guitarist, broke up in 1990, and the remaining lads made the decision to start a new band and compete in a music competition being held in Kathmandu. The band NEWAZ, whose name literally translates as "Nepali Awaz" and which also represents the Newari community, was then founded. The band, a mainstay of our rock scene, went through its first phase between 1990 and 1996; its second album was released only in 2008; and it has been active continuously since 2011. Currently, Satish plays guitar and sings, Roshan plays bass, Anish plays drums, and Nishant plays organ.
